EiE A Long Way Down: Designing Parachutes

In this unit, students think like aerospace engineers, using their knowledge of astronomy to design space technologies. Students apply their knowledge of drag (air resistance) and conditions on other planets to engineer a model parachute that's "mission ready" for landing in an atmosphere that is thinner than Earth's.

* Please note, teachers must have attended an in-person Engineering is Elementary workshop to be eligible for borrowing this item.
